BMI Coverland started life in 1949 when the UK tile manufacturer Redland expanded to South Africa and installed the first double-action line production tile machine. Initially trading under the name Vereeniging Tiles Ltd, the company expanded dramatically until 1976, when four major concrete roof tile manufacturers were merged into a single company– Coverland Roof Tiles. Coverland later became part of BMI Group in 2017, when its parent company, Braas Monier, was acquired by Standard Industries.

Today, with over 70 years of roofing experience, we remain the leading concrete roofing roof tile supplier in Southern Africa. With a national footprint of 7 production facilities and 3 depots, customers throughout the region can easily access our products and solutions, whatever the type of project.
